New Buck Chimney Services Offers A Variety Of Chimney Care Services

chimney with damaged masonry, worn down crown, and moss growing on itAt New Buck Chimney Services, we understand the important role that each part of the chimney system plays. Much like the systems of the body, all parts must be in good working order for the system to function efficiently as a whole. That’s why we make it our priority to provide total chimney care to our customers. At New Buck Chimney Services, we specialize in:

Chimney Sweeping – Having your chimney system regularly swept is the best way to keep ahead of damages and repairs. It is also the best way to prevent fires and prolong the lifespan of your entire system. During a professionally-conducted sweep, your fireplace and chimney should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected for any damages, blockages, inefficiency problems, or signs of water. Because the average homeowner doesn’t spend much time inside of his or her chimney, these potential threats can go unnoticed and can cause serious damage to the structure and the home. To protect yourself from expensive repairs and rebuilds, and to ensure the safety and enjoyment of your fireplace, make annual chimney sweeping a priority in your home! For more information on what our Chimney Sweeping services include, please see Chimney Sweeping and Inspecting.

Inspections – In early 2000, the National Fire Protection Association or NFPA addressed a need for consistency within chimney and fireplace inspections. For the documentation and safety of homeowners, they set specific guidelines for what each level of inspection should and must include. This resulted in three levels of inspections, broken down by intensity and need. At New Buck Chimney Services, we specialize in conducting both Level 1 and Level 2 inspections and offer them at a very reasonable price. These inspections may be required before the purchase or sale of a property; before the replacement or changing of an appliance/fuel type; or after a chimney system has suffered environmental or fire damages. For more information on what a Level 1 and Level 2 inspection include, please see our Chimney Sweeping and Inspecting page.

Fixing Leaking Chimneys – Water damage is the number one cause of deterioration and decay within the chimney system. Because water can cause extensive and expensive damage in such a short amount of time, it is important that you address a water problem as soon as you notice it. Leaks can be caused by damaged or missing chimney caps, improperly installed or inadequate chimney crowns, deteriorating or improperly installed flashing, or cracks/holes within the masonry. At New Buck Chimney Services, we have the experience and knowledge to quickly address the source of the leak, make the appropriate repairs, and get your system up and running again in no time! Cracked Flue That Needs Relining

Relining Damaged Chimneys – When your chimney liner is incorrectly sized, damaged, or deteriorating, your family’s safety, and the structural integrity and lifespan of your chimney are at risk. A liner is typically made out of aluminum, stainless steel, or clay tile, and is designed to contain all of the byproducts of a fire and push them out of the home through the chimney. When the liner has holes, cracks, or other damages, it cannot properly do its job, and hot smoke, ash, gases, and other byproducts of fire are able to escape into your home. This can be a serious fire hazard and will also render your entire chimney system inefficient. At New Buck Chimney Services, we work with only the finest stainless steel liners that are backed by a lifetime guarantee when installed by one of our professionals. For more information on chimney liners or the relining process, check out our page on Relining Damaged Chimneys.

Installing Chimney Caps – Chimney caps offer added protection to the chimney, shielding it from rain, wind, debris, and wildlife. Caps are typically made of copper, steel, or mesh, and come in a variety of sizes, colors, and designs. With all of the options available to you, adding a cap can add flair to your home, in addition to protection. Having a properly installed and maintained chimney cap gives you the assurance that your chimney is free from obstructions and water damage, and can save you thousands of dollars’ worth of repairs down the line. To learn more about cap benefits and options, check out Installing Chimney Caps.

Damper Repair and Replacement – The damper of the chimney is used to control air flow within the system. It can be easily opened to allow more air into the home (resulting in a higher flame), or closed to prevent air intake or loss (perfect for preserving conditioned air and reducing draft). However, when your damper is not working properly, your system can suffer from inefficiency and smoke problems. A damper may need a simple adjustment or repair, or it may need replacement. Both options are incredibly affordable, and can keep money in your wallet and lower your utilities. For more information on dampers, check out Damper Repair and Replacement.

Wood Stove Repairs – Wood stoves offer romance, comfort, and classic appeal – that is, when they’re working properly. A wood stove that is not properly maintained can be a smoky, dirty, fire hazard. At New Buck Chimney Services, we have the skills and tools to repair every part of your wood stove, so that you can enjoy its charm and warmth for years to come. For more information on wood stove repairs, check out Wood Stove Repairs.
