Clifton came out to do our inspection/sweep, and he was great. He explained everything he was going to do and why. He was very clean and has a really pleasant personality. He was also very informative and gave us great advice. Our fireplace is in great shape, and we have peace of mind knowing that. It was money well spent. I will call them again when we need our fireplace serviced. Carla (?) in the office was also so kind to me. She was patient with my questions. We are new to this area, so I was calling around to see who I wanted to use. After calling others, there was no question who I wanted to go with. WHAT AN AMAZING COMPANY!!!   I live 800 miles from my 89 year old mother who has been trying to find someone to repair her gas fireplace.  The damper would not open and other companies she's had out to her house told her she needed all this work that she honestly felt and knew didn't need to be done, so she's not addressed it anymore thinking there was no one around Shreveport/Bossier that is honest.   However, because of the impending winter weather fast approaching.  I did some research from North Carolina and saw the good rating that New Buck Chimney received and decided to call them, not knowing if they would be able to service her before the storm arrived.  I called on Wednesday morning, and explained our situation.  Carly, the owners daughter, is so nice and told me they might be able to go to my mother's house Friday morning if the storm has not reached northwest La. by then.  She would call me Thursday to let me know.  She did call me Thursday and they were able to go Friday morning.  Her husband, Clifton, showed up on time, wore protection on his feet, protected her carpet, and my mother said he was one of the nicest, most professional, honest and respectful human beings she has ever met.  Fixing her damper only required replacing a rusty bolt....clearly not what other companies suggested.  He cleaned, inspected both inside the chimney and the exterior.  Took photos and did see some things that did need to be addressed at some point, but nothing that was immediate or urgent.  He even put a fire in the fireplace for her before he left.   He called me immediately afterwards to update me and said he would email me not only the receipt for the work he did this morning, along with the photos, but he would send me a copy of the proposal for the work he recommending.  My mother called me shortly afterward and she said her faith in humanity has been restored.  She was so happy with Clifton and his work ethic....a testament to the owner...which happens to be his father-in-law.   What an amazing company and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing chimney cleaning and/or repairs.  I wish all companies were a wonderful and professional as this. After the last few storms we had some water trickling down the chimney...called New buck, they took a look and let me know everything was fine, confirmed I didn't need a sweeping and didn't charge me anything. Kevin and his assistant performed an evaluation on our 167 year old fireplace and chimneys.   Kevin was forthright and honest in his evaluation, which unfortunately was that further use based upon their current condition could endanger an already ancient home.  He provided some useful options, was reasonable in his pricing, and he and his assistant were courteous, knowledgeable and thoughtful in all their interactions with my mother and me. Kevin and his team are great to work with! We have used them for a few chimney inspections as well as replacing a damaged cap. Every time we have used them they have been punctual and professional. Could not recommend them enough if you need any chimney services!
